HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Tommie Petersson is the Head Instructor at Sanchin Budokai and has several decades of experience in martial arts. With Black Belts in multiple martial arts systems, he is committed to providing quality instruction that blends tradition with modern self-defense techniques.

Petersson holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate, with a direct instructor lineage from Founder Edmund K. Parker Sr. In this tradition, he is also a Certified Instructor and School Charter Holder. Additionally, he holds Black Belts or equivalent ranks in several other martial arts systems, such as Ju-Jitsu, and Kempo. In 2024, Petersson was also appointed as the Swedish Representative for the World Kenpo-Kaikan International Karate Organisation (WKKO). In his daily work, Petersson works as a Teacher Educator and Educational Science PhD-student at Uppsala University, with a background as a Certified Primary and Secondary School Teacher (BA, BA; MSEd), as well as a textbook author.
